                             WILLIS BROWN

   David Willis Brown, 99, of Poe, WV passed away on
Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in the WVU Medicine
Summersville Regional Medical Center.  Born January 18,
1922 at Sparks, WV, he was a son of the late David Alex
and Pina Mae Bailes Brown.  He was also preceded in
death by his wife, Glenna Brown in 1997 and by thirteen
siblings.

   He was a member of the Gilgal United Methodist
Church at Mt. Nebo, was a Methodist for over 50 years,
was a World War II Army veteran, and was a retired
pipefitter at Elkem Metals at Alloy.  He was a loving father
and husband to Glenna and he helped establish the first
volunteer Ambulance service in Nicholas County, he
helped establish city water on Route 129, was active in
the Community Action and was on the board of Senior
Citizens of Nicholas County, was a delegate to the
Methodist Conference for many years, he helped
establish Neighborhood Watch in Nicholas County, and
he helped start the Keslers Cross Lanes Fire Department.

   Survivors include two sons, Larry and David Brown;
one daughter, Sharon Bailes; eleven grandchildren,
eleven great grandchildren, and a host of other family
and friends.

   Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on
Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Dotson-Simpson
Memorial Cemetery at Keslers Cross Lanes with Pastor
Arnold Nicholas officiating.  Interment will follow under
the direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville.

   There will be no visitation.  

   In lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor may be
made to Gilgal United Methodist Church PO Box 66 Mt.
Nebo, WV  26679.
