                         JOE J. COTTLE

  Joe J. Cottle, 88, of Summersville, WV, went home to
be with the Lord on Thursday, September 24, 2020 in the
Summersville Regional Medical Center after an extended
illness.  Born September 23, 1932 at Richwood, he was a
son of the late Emmett and Marie Grose Cottle.  He was
also preceded in death by his brother, Martin D. Cottle.

  He graduated from NCHS in 1951 and shortly after he
went in the US Army serving in Germany for two years
during the Korean Conflict.  Joe worked for Island Creek
Coal Company for 42 years.  He was part owner of Cottle
Brothers Farm where he raised Polled Hereford Cattle.  
Joe loved farming, especially just getting out on his
tractor and mowing pasture fields.

  He loved God and lived his faith every day of his life.  
His fervent wish was that his family and friends would
accept Jesus Christ and be saved.  He was a charter
member of Southern Baptist Fellowship Church where he
served as Deacon for several years.

  His family was his pride and joy and greatest blessing
on earth.  He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Joyce
Cutlip Cottle who he married December 26, 1955;
children, Susie Litton and husband, Jerry; Joe A. Cottle
and fiancé Robin Short; Bryan Cottle and wife, Beverly
Kirker; grandchildren, Neil Litton and wife, Belinda; David
Litton and wife, Candice; Crystal Williams and husband,
Ronnie; and Steven Kirker; great grandchildren, Payton
Litton, Abby Litton, Meredith Litton, Jenna Litton, Tyler
Williams, Owen Litton, and Katelyn Williams.  Also
surviving is Aunt Madaline Wagner who makes her home
with Joe and Joyce.

  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday,
September 28, 2020 in the Southern Baptist Fellowship
Church in Summersville with Pastors Delbert Walker and
Allen Donaldson officiating.  Interment will follow in the
Walker Memorial Park at Summersville under the
direction of the White Funeral Home at Summersville.

  Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11:00
a.m. until time of services with COVID 19 restrictions
enforced.
