                                              ROBERT HOMER SUMMERS

   Robert Homer Summers, 89, of Summersville, WV passed away
on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 in the Summersville Regional Medical
Center.  Born October 2, 1928 at Sparks, WV, he was a son of
the late Rubert Amon and Beulah Neil Summers.  He was also
preceded in death by his siblings, Richard Herold Summers,
Mildred Mae Vanatter, Virginia Madeline Cowan, and Howard
Amon Summers.

   He attended the Fairview Baptist Church at Lockwood and was
a former Sunday school teacher as a young man, delivered coal
to Nicholas County schools from his father’s coal mine in
Lockwood for several years, worked in the Fisher Body Assembly
Plant building cars in Baltimore, MD while attending WV Institute
of Technology he drove coal truck for Bencil Long Coal Trucking
Company at Page, he taught at the University of Virginia for 12
years and in his field of education he acquired his Master’s
Degree and was working toward his Doctorate Degree from
American University, he ended his career as an Industrial Arts
Teacher for Fairfax County, VA and became a coordinator of
media services for the county with 24 years of service, and he
was a gentleman farmer.

   Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Beulah Dorsey
Summers; son Kenneth Summers; one granddaughter, Krista
Gail Warren; two great grandchildren, Brooke and Austin Warren;
one great great grandson, Derek Rosenberg and a host of other
family and friends.

   Special thanks to his caregivers, Betsy McLaughlin, Sharon
Shafer, and Sherry Hise.

   Funeral services will be held at 12:00 (noon) on Saturday, May
26, 2018 in the White Funeral Home at Summersville with Pastor
Warren Eades officiating.  Interment will follow in the Miller
Cemetery at Keslers Cross Lanes.

   Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday one-hour
prior to the funeral services.         

      In lieu of flowers and in Robert’s memory, the family asks
