JOSEPH HOLLEY COLEMAN
Joseph Holley Coleman “Jack,” 85, of Summersville,
WV, passed away on August 2, 2018.
Jack was born to parents Raymond and Mary
Coleman on December 8, 1932. After graduating high
school he joined the Navy where he served his country as
a Seaman; he was honorably discharged. He went on to
pursue a career in road construction and, while raising his
family of four, put himself through school to obtain his
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; he retired from
management at the Garden State Parkway/NJ Highway
Authority and returned to his roots in West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond
and Mary, five brothers; Junior, Robert, Elwood, James
and Carl David.
He is survived by his brother, Charles, his four
children: Douglas, Shamren, Raymond “Khris,” and
John, his grandchildren: Iliana, Matt, Kelsey and Morgan,
and his great grandchildren: Jake, Elizabeth-Jean,
Sawyer and Anzleigh.
He will be missed by so many whose lives were
touched forever by this very special man.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August
8th, 2018, at Jodie Baptist Church in Jodie, WV, at 10:00
am with Pastors Dennis Preast and Lonnie Strickland
officiating. Burial will follow, at Rich Creek Cemetery. A
reception will follow the burial, at Jodie Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at
White Funeral Home in Summersville, from 6:00 pm – 8:
