                 Flavius Franklin “Hank” Hanna

      Flavius Franklin “Hank” Hanna, 80 of Elyria, OH, died
Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Mercy New Life Hospice, In
Lorain, OH.  He was born April 25, 1936 in Canvas, West
Virginia.  
      
      He attended Canvas Elementary and Nicholas
County High School in Nicholas County, WV, and
graduated in 1954.   After serving in the Army where he
was a paratrooper, a Green Beret and Korean War vet,  
he graduated from West Virginia Institute of Technology
with a BS in Electrical Engineering.  Hank was employed
at Republic Steel and LTV Steel in Elyria, OH.    After
retiring, he worked for a brief time as a consultant.  

      He loved the outdoors and was an avid animal lover.  
His hobbies included: fishing,  making lures and knives,  
photography, working puzzles, reading, golfing and until
recent years gardening, especially dahlias and
tomatoes.     Also, he was proud to be a member of the
NRA.  .   
      
      Mr. Hanna is survived by significant other, Charlene
Firestone and his fur-baby, Sadie,  sister, Kay Eliseo,
Nettie, WV and brother-in law, Charles Marshall,
Charlotte Hall, MD.  Nieces and nephews left to cherish
his memory are Sue (Glen) Counts,  Delmas (Joyce)
Bennett, Steve (Jeannie) Bennett, Nettie, WV; Beverly
(Rick) and Lana Zwolensky,  Moundsville, WV, Dan
Heston, Brandon, FL; John (Karen) Marshall, California,
MD; Donald (Sara) Marshall, Boston, MA and special
neighbors Pat and Keith Meadows.  

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret
“Maggie” Keen Hanna and Arthur Hanna; his sisters:  
Evelyn (Troy) Bennett, Margie (Dave) Heston , Helen
Marshall, brother-in law, Paul Eliseo and nephews,  
Eddie and David Bennett

      Funeral services will be Monday, March 13, 2017, at
Whites Funeral Home, Summersville, WV, where the
family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of
the services at 12 noon.    Interment will follow at West
Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin, WV, where military
honors will be provided.
