Joe Norman Baughman, 68, of Craigsville, WV passed
away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 in the Summersville
Regional Medical Center. Born May 4, 1949 at Sutton, he
was a son of the late Virgil Bud and Ruth Pauline Norman
Baughman. He was also preceded in death by eight
brothers and sisters, Gene, Claudia, Raymond, Steve,
Alice, Phyllis, Sherry, and John Virgil.
He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in
Summersville. He was a former coal miner who served as
superintendent for Island Creek Coal Company, was an
avid fisherman, a member of the UMWA, an Army
veteran, a member of the Richwood American Legion and
the Summersville Moose Club. He always had a smile on
his face and a joke to tell. He never met a stranger and
was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved to
play cards with his buddies. He loved his girls and was a
wonderful father figure to his step-sons. He was a
wonderful husband, partner, and friend.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Fitzwater
Baughman; daughters, Tammy (Robert) McClung and
Amanda (John) Shelton, both of Summersville; stepsons,
Randall Scott Musselman of Summersville and Jeffrey
Ryan Musselman of Clarksburg; sisters, Carmen (Dowl)
Johnston of Summersville and Verla (Dale) Taylor of
Mebane, NC; nephew, John Michael Baughman of
Summersville and several other nieces and nephews;
grandchildren, Zachariah Joseph (Selby) McClung,
Kaylee Dawn Baughman, Ava Alyse Shelton, Hayden
Jacob Blankenship, Karus Alexander Musselman,
Leila-Jay A. Musselman; one great granddaughter,
Harper Jane McClung.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on
Thursday, November 30, 2017 in the White Funeral Home
at Summersville with Pastor Mike Malcomb officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from
5 until time of services at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
