Ira Alexander Ramsey
                     IRA ALEXANDER RAMSEY

   Ira Alexander Ramsey, 81, of Mt. Nebo, WV passed away
at his home on Thursday, June 16, 2016.  Born October 3,
1934 at Hominy Falls, WV, he was a son of the late Philip
and Jessie Beam Ramsey.  He was also preceded in death
by his wife, Levada Meadows Ramsey and by a brother,
Danny Ramsey.  

   He was a retired Command Sergeant Major with
twenty-three years of service and was awarded the Bronze
Star for meritorious service in Vietnam, was a self-employed
tractor trailer driver for nine years, and was a US Postal
employee at Beckley for nine years.

   Survivors include his daughters, Linda Ramsey Beam
and husband, Doug and Renee Ramsey Manning and
husband, Keith; siblings, Teddy Ramsey and wife, Gaye
and Aileen Ramsey Wilson; sister-in-law, Mary Ramsey;
grandchildren, Michelle Beam Clackler and husband, SSG
Michael Clackler, David Beam and wife, Laura, Amy Beam
Keiper and husband, Travis, Jeremy Manning, Nicholas
Manning and wife, Katelyn; great grandchildren, Evan and
Ethan Clackler, Aaron and Lacey Beam, and Alex and
Hunter Fennell.

   He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and
considered a hero by his family and by a host of other
nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday,
June 20, 2016 in the White Funeral Home at Summersville
with Pastor Doug Beam officiating.  Interment with Military
Honors will follow in the Gilgal Church Cemetery at Mt.
Nebo.

   Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6
to 8 p.m.
