Georgia Brogan Martin
                     GEORGIA BROGAN MARTIN

     Georgia Dell Lanham Brogan Martin, 89 of Mt. Lookout,
WV entered heaven November 10, 2015 in the Hubbard
Hospice House in Charleston, WV with her family by her
side.  She was born January 5, 1926 to Lewis and Blanche
Blake Lanham.  God’s word says in II Corinthians 5:8, “We
are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the
body, and to be present with the Lord.”  Her faith is now
sight.
     Before moving to Mt. Lookout, Nicholas County, WV she
lived in Charleston, WV and was a member of Walnut Gap
Missionary Baptist Church.  After moving to Mt. Lookout,
she became a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist
Church.  She served the Lord over 40 years by teaching
Sunday School, directing and teaching Vacation Bible
School and serving as junior youth leader.  She loved
gardening; canning, cooking and reading but most of all
loved her family and the Lord.  She was selfless and always
giving to others.
     Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her
husbands, Carl Dewayne Brogan and William C. Martin;
Son in law, Clarence “Banky” Raines; great grandson,
Cameron Raines; stepson, Curtis Martin; brothers, Warren
and Orville Lanham; sisters, Oakly Dolan, Rada Rhodes,
Jessie Kerns, Sybil Reynolds, Lillian Pierson and Phyllis
Gillespie.
     Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rebecca
Raines of Culloden, WV, David and his wife, Kitty Brogan of
Tampa, FL, Karen and her husband, Russell Bennett,
Stanley and his wife, Beverly Brogan, Charles and his wife,
Debbie Brogan, April Brogan, Sherri and her husband,
George McClung all of Mt. Lookout, Dewayne and his wife,
Andrea Brogan of Summersville; step children, John and
his wife, Connie Martin, Janice and her husband, Tuck
McMillen, daughter in law, Diana Martin all of Dunbar and
Bob and his wife Gail Martin of Ravenswood; sister in law,
Dorothy Johnson, Mary Ann McMillen and her husband,
Mack; brother in law, Ray Martin; Twenty one
grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 14 step
grandchildren, 23 step great grandchildren, 10 great-great
grandchildren and a vast number of nieces, nephews and
friends whom she loved dearly.
     Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 13,
2015 at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist
Church at Mt. Lookout, WV with Rev. Mike Long, Joe
Shaffer and Damon Wilkowiltz officiating.          Interment
will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of the
White Funeral Home in Summersville.
     Friends may call at the church from 12 noon till service
time on the day of the services.
