teaching career and personal life, particularly with her
involvement in her church choir. In retirement, she devoted
herself to loving her granddaughters and being involved in
their lives.
She is survived by her daughter Lorie Lowell and her
husband, Bill, of Mooresville, NC; son Brian of Little River,

Her granddaughters will remember their Nana for her
thoughtfulness, always taking care of them, her love of God
and for never putting herself first.  The family wishes to
thank the nurses and staff at Abernethy Laurels, Newton,
NC for their extraordinary love and care of Carolyn.
A graveside service and celebration of Carolyn’s life will
be held at Walker  Memorial Park, Summersville, WV on
